Droncit® has been tested in breeding and pregnant dogs and cats. No adverse effects were noted. Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform Vetsource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Praziquantel Usage Droncit® should be given orally as directed by your veterinarian as a single oral treatment, unless otherwise directed. Manufacturer Dosing Recommendations Cats (at least 6 weeks of age) 0-4 lbs: 1/2 tablet (11.5 mg) 5-11 lbs: 1 tablet (23 mg) Over 11 lbs: 1 & 1/2 tablets (34.5 mg) Missed Doses Quite often, a single dose of this medication is effective. Measures should be taken to prevent re-infection. Side Effects Side effects may include loss of appetite, vomiting, drowsiness, diarrhea. Other side effects may occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian. Drug & Food Interactions Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, and a drug interaction may be anticipated. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely.
